Prosecutors meet family members of nightclub fire victims, urge citizens to provide testimonies and evidence
- The public prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia and the team of prosecutors heading the investigation into the deadly fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kochani met Tuesday with the families of the people who lost their lives in the blaze. In a press release, the Prosecutor’s Office said the prosecutors informed the family members about the progress of the investigation and responded to their questions and dilemmas.

Skopje, 29 April 2025 (MIA) - The public prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia and the team of prosecutors heading the investigation into the deadly fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kochani met Tuesday with the families of the people who lost their lives in the blaze. In a press release, the Prosecutor’s Office said the prosecutors informed the family members about the progress of the investigation and responded to their questions and dilemmas.
The Prosecutor’s Office said the investigation is comprehensive and is examining all aspects of potential accountability.
“Responding to all questions and dilemmas of the family members of the dead, the prosecutors assured them that the investigation is comprehensive and takes into consideration all aspects of potential accountability for the tragic event. The families were also notified of the dynamics of the coming interviews with those affected as the next stage of the investigative process,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.
The Office said the investigation has engaged the maximum capacities of all investigative bodies and involves “dozens of experts from various fields”.
Additionally, the Prosecutor’s Office called on all citizens who have personal testimonies, information or evidence related to the work of the “Pulse” nightclub and affiliated businesses, as well as the relevant institutions, to share them by filling a form available on the prosecution’s website (www.jorm.gov.mk).
The form can be sent to an email address dedicated to the investigation istragakochani@jorm.mk, after which, based on the relevancy of the information, the citizens will be contacted by the team of investigators, the Office said.
The Office stressed that a timely and comprehensive uncovering of the causes and responsibilities for the fire remains a top priority.
Earlier on Tuesday, the families of the victims called for accountability and demanded the resignations of all responsible and the creation of a government of experts.
Sixty-eight people and three legal entities are suspected in the investigation into the March 16 fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kochani which took the lives of 62 people.
The fire was caused by pyrotechnics during a concert in the nightclub. The nightclub operated without a valid license and was in violation of several safety standards, including the lack of sufficient fire-fighting systems and emergency exits.
