Plenković offers support to Mickoski for the country's EU integration process

Skopje, 21 June 2025 (MIA) – Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in a phone call with PM Hristijan Mickoski said he supported the EU integration process stressing that the country deserved to join the EU.
Both premiers said they spoke on the phone in social media posts.
“I had a phone call with the prime minister of the Republic of Croatia. Ahead of the European Parliament report, I continue to use all the contacts to tell the Macedonian truth – about our progress, the values we defend and the future we deserve,” Mickoski wrote in a Facebook post.
Croatia, he added, is a trusted friend of our country and its vocal support in key moments is a huge motivation and encouragement for us all.
“Macedonia deserves a membership in the EU, but with its head held up high,” Mickoski concluded.
Plenković said he and Mickoski discussed also the MEP Thomas Waitz’s report on the country.
“With PM Hristijan Mickoski I discussed the further dynamic on the European path of North Macedonia, the upcoming European Parliament’s progress report and developments in South-eastern Europe. Croatia will continue to strongly support North Macedonia, it deserves a membership in the EU,” Plenković wrote in X post.
