Skopje, 28 August 2024 (MIA) - There were 37 open-air fires across the country over the past 24 hours, 29 of which have been put out, three are under control, while five are still active, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) said on Wednesday.

Fires are still burning in the municipalities of Studenichani, Shtip, Debar, Chashka and Dolneni, whereas the wildfires on Galichica mountain in Ohrid, as well as the ones in the municipalities of Zhelino and Novo Selo are under control.

CMC director Stojanche Angelov urges citizens to be extremely cautious and report suspected arson.
