Skopje, 1 April 2020 (MIA) – Any speculation about the harmful consequences of 5G technology is stupid and it lacks any scientific confirmation, says Ilijancho Gagovski, former head of the Microsoft Macedonia and owner of the software company PrymApps.
The network, according to him, has non-ionising radiation, which isn’t harmful to the health of the people.
“5G is the fifth generation, a successor of 4G. The fifth generation of wireless communications technologies is known as 5G. 5G will use some of the existing frequencies also used alongside 4G, namely 900 megahertz, 1,800 megahertz, 2,6 gigahertz and 3,5 gigahertz. Moreover, it will use frequency scopes and nearly 24 gigahertz, 28 gigaherzt and 40 gigahertz, with the scope of close to 26 gigahertz being the most exploited one. 81-86 gigahertz will be the highest frequencies, but they won’t be mainstream probably,” Gagovski says in interview with Slobodna TV’s “Morning Briefing”.
Non-ionising radiation, the seasoned IT expert explains, lacks sufficient energy to break apart DNA and cause cellular damage.
“The frequency will be increased, but it remains in the same class of radiation. It means it poses no health risk,” Gagovski says, adding that 5G network will radiate at 40 gigahertz, “in what is called microwave, deep in the non-ionising specter.”
Recently, Makedonski Telekom in a statement denied disinformation spread on social networks that the company has activated the testing 5G network and that it has harmful consequences.
“Without evidence and facts, by sharing fake news and articles from 2018 and 2019 in a false context, a negative campaign lacking any scientific data is being created about 5G network, which can incite panic that is quite unnecessary in times when we need to remain calm,” Makedonski Telekom said.
