Skopje, 13 February 2020 (MIA) – Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski expects the proposal for the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office to be adopted in Parliament after MPs review it a plenary session, he told a news conference Thursday.
“I’ve underlined this several times already,” PM Spasovski said. “Adopting the Law on the PPO is highly important for the country’s future.
“Although it’s not a prerequisite for the country’s European prospects, it’s a good example and an argument that we can present to EU member states as we look forward to getting the date to start negotiations.”
Spasovski said that the ongoing debates on the law, both in the government and within parliamentary committees, were productive and helped “clear the fog around its points and reasons for its adoption.”
“I expect that Parliament will review the law during a plenary session and adopt it,” Spasovski said in response to a reporter’s question. mr/
