Stuttgart, 24 January 2020 (dpa/MIA) – Six people have been killed and several others injured in a shooting in the small town of Rot am See in southern Germany, police confirmed to dpa on Friday.
A police spokesman said that initial evidence seemed to suggest the shooter had had a personal relationship with the victims, adding that “this has not yet been confirmed.”
He said there was no indication that there was more than one shooter, but that the motive for the crimes was completely unclear.
Earlier on Friday, police in the nearby city of Aalen said on their Twitter account that a “large police operation” was under way in Rot am See after shots were fired, adding that several people had likely been killed and injured in the incident.
The police were due to give a press conference on the shooting later on Friday afternoon.
