Rome, 28 May 2020 (dpa/MIA) – AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has returned to Sweden a day after pulling a calf muscle, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported Wednesday.
The Serie A club is said to have allowed the Swedish veteran to rejoin his family which had remained in Stockholm when he returned to Italy on May 11.
Milan plan to reassess the training injury in his right leg in 10 days.
Ibrahimovic, 38, had spent two months in Sweden during Italy’s coronavirus lockdown, training for part of the period with Stockholm side Hammarby, which he co-owns.
A restart of the league in mid-June is expected to be decided Thursday in a meeting between the Italian government and football authorities.
