Rama: After Kosovo, Albania is networking with North Macedonia in energy field

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has said the next challenge for the country's government following the recent launch of a transmission line with Kosovo is the construction of a 400 KV transmission line with North Macedonia.

Tirana, 24 December 2020 (MIA) – Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has said the next challenge for the country’s government following the recent launch of a transmission line with Kosovo is the construction of a 400 KV transmission line with North Macedonia.

“We are currently focused on the realization of the project over an inter-connection line with North Macedonia after the recent launch of the Albania-Kosovo line,” said PM Rama.

According to him, these projects represent a new stage in the energy sector.

Rama said another important project is the contract with a United States company on the construction of the Skavica hydro power plant at the Drin river, near the border with North Macedonia, noting that the HPP would make Albania an exporter of electricity.
