Police investigate cases of breach of self-isolation measure

The Ministry of the Interior has registered three cases of people in Tetovo and Strumica not complying with the self-isolation measure. Four cases are being investigated in Skopje, Nakje Chulev said Tuesday.

Skopje, 17 March 2020 (MIA) – The Ministry of the Interior has registered three cases of people in Tetovo and Strumica not complying with the self-isolation measure. Four cases are being investigated in Skopje, Nakje Chulev said Tuesday.

“We have been in contact with the public prosecutor’s office to start processing the reports filed to the police,” the Interior Minister told a news conference.

He urged the citizens to abide by the self-isolation measure.

There are no reports filed, Chulev said, of people who have returned from northern Italy not complying with the recommendations. “If you see someone not complying with them, please report them via e-mail or by calling a police station.”

According to him, 173 people are self-isolating on the territory of the Skopje Internal Affairs Sector. “They are being checked by police regularly,” the Minister said, adding that there were 13 people in self-isolation in Bitola, 16 in Tetovo, 82 in Ohrid, 12 in Strumica, 6 in Kumanovo, and 8 in Shtip.
