Skopje, 4 May 2020 (MIA) – Goce Delchev is a historical figure who unites not just the people in North Macedonia, but beyond, Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski posted on Facebook Monday, on the 117th anniversary of Goce Dechev’s death.
“Goce Delchev is a symbol of our fight for a free and independent country. He’s our teacher, heroic revolutionary, guide to the future,” read Spasovski’s post.
The PM also underlined in his post that Goce Delchev’s idea of the world as a field for “cultural competition” among peoples, anticipates the idea of European integration after World War II.
“117 years after his tragic death, it’s our duty to promote his legacy and cherish his memory which unites us and inspires us to fight for greater rights and freedoms and promotes cultural competition between peoples,” Spasovski wrote.
