Skopje, 18 June 2020 (MIA) – In line with the the third set of economic measures, the government has adopted a decree allocating young people vouchers worth Mden 30,000 for IT trainings, Minister of Information Society and Administration Damjan Manchevski told a press conference Thursday.
The total budget for these vouchers, the Minister said, is Mden 150 million to cover the expenses of various levels and areas of IT trainings.
Interested businesses can apply at www.uslugi.gov.mk starting June 29 to teach digital skills trainings.
The list of trainings types and providers will be selected by a digital forum of independent experts and published by the Ministry of Education.
Young people under 29, who have completed their high school studies, will be eligible to apply for an e-voucher worth Mden 30,000 at www.uslugi.gov.mk, starting July 19. They will also be able to choose from the list the training type and provider, based on their needs and knowledge.
Minister Manchevski told Thursday’s press briefing that the IT trainings vouchers will help young people improve their digital skills and find work.
“This measure aims to help young people deal with the effects of the healthcare and economic crisis, as well as to apply for jobs in the IT sector which lack workers offers higher salaries. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world and digital skills are now more necessary than ever before,” Manchevski said.
The selection of trainings providers will take into consideration several factors and the application process will be completely digital.
