New signs put up at Kokino ancient observatory

Kumanovo, 15 July 2020 (MIA) — Members of the activist group ABER 2015, in collaboration with the Kumanovo National Museum, completed the project funded by the French Embassy to improve access to the Kokino archaeological site, MIA’s Kumanovo correspondent reports.

According to archaeologist Dejan Gjorgjievski, five new signs — providing directions as well as information about the site — were produced to make it easier on local and foreign tourists (who have been the most vocal about improving the signage) to find their way around Kokino.

The grant also made possible the visitkokino.com website providing more details on one of the world’s oldest megalithic observatories. mr/
