Belgrade – The G7 Foreign Ministers reaffirm shared commitment to the security, economic recovery and European perspective of the Western Balkans countries as a crucial investment for peace and stability and support further progress on regional cooperation especially through the Common Regional Market, Green Agenda for the Western Balkans and Berlin Process, MIA’s Belgrade correspondent reports on Thursday.
Skopje – Europe is now facing a serious challenge over what signals to send citizens in North Macedonia and the Western Balkans, as well as in the EU. We’ve demonstrated success in implementation of reforms. Now, we’re working on the next step, which is holding the first intergovernmental conference, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said on Thursday.

Skopje – Prime Minister Zoran Zaev received his first Covid-19 vaccine dose from the Chinese manufacturer Sinopharm at the Skopje mass vaccination site in the Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena. He said he felt great and was going straight back to his work duties in the afternoon.

Skopje – Out of 2,660 COVID-19 tests carried out in North Macedonia in the past 24 hours, 324 new cases were registered, 1,178 patients recovered and 26 died, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.
Skopje – Prime Minister Zoran Zaev along with Health Minister Venko Filipce and Chinese Ambassador to North Macedonia Zhang Zuo visited Thursday the vaccination site at the Jane Sandanski polyclinic in Skopje. PM Zaev, Health Minister Filipche and Chinese Ambassador Zuo were briefed on polyclinic’s capacity for uninterrupted vaccination of people per day.
Skopje – USAID will help the country improve its economic competitiveness, reduce corruption and increase youth contribution in society through US$ 8,3 million, part of the Development Partnership Grant Agreement that the United States and North Macedonia signed on Thursday.
Skopje – The trial in the ‘International Association’ case, in which founder Bojan Jovanovski and four other people are indicted on fraud and money laundering charges will resume on May 19, after material evidence submitted by the defense were presented at Thursday’s hearing.
Skopje – Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi during Thursday’s meeting in Brussels with the EU Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni said that the implementation of the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans is the key to post-COVID economic recovery in North Macedonia.

Skopje – According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-March 2021 amounted to USD 2,002,586 thousand, a 29.0% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was USD 2,637,519 thousand, or 24.6 % more than the same period last year.

Starting Wednesday, all adults will be able to book a vaccination appointment so long as jabs are still available, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday, at the opening of a new vaccination centre in Paris.
Hong Kong – Jailed Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong has been sentenced to another ten months in prison. The 24-year-old received the new sentence on Thursday for taking part in an unsanctioned protest last year to mark the anniversary of China’s bloody crackdown on the democracy movement on June 4, 1989, Hong Kong media reported.
