Skopje, 3 April 2020 (MIA) – 180 Macedonian nationals have returned by plane to the country from Berlin and Cologne/Bonn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a press release on Thursday.
So far, 2,200 Macedonian nationals stranded abroad have returned back to the country by planes organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Secretariat of the Government, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health.
In line with coronavirus protective measures, they will be placed in mandatory state quarantine.
“On the repatriation flight from Skopje to Berlin, we helped 163 foreign nationals to return to their homes,” press release said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its gratitude to the competent authorities in Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo/NATO, Serbia, Germany and Austria for their cooperation in issuing transit permits and overall support in these difficult circumstances.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to make efforts to help Macedonian nationals stranded abroad to return home.
