Industry turnover on domestic market up, non-domestic market down: statistics

The industry turnover in March 2020 decreased by 21.1% compared to March 2019, State Statistical Office data shows.

Skopje, 15 May 2020 (MIA) – The industry turnover in March 2020 decreased by 21.1% compared to March 2019, State Statistical Office data shows.

The total turnover by Main Industrial Groupings in March 2020, in comparison with March 2019, was lower in Intermediate goods, except energy by 16.2%, Capital goods by 31.6%, Durable consumer goods by 31.9% and Non-durable consumer goods by 2.4%.

Industry turnover in February 2020 dropped by 12.9% compared to February 2019 and by 0.6% in January-March 2020 compared to the same period in 2019.

According to State Statistical Office data, industry turnover on the domestic market in March 2020 rose by 2.7% compared to March 2019.

The turnover in industry on the domestic market by Main Industrial Groupings in March 2020, in comparison with March 2019, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 5.1% and Non-durable consumer goods by 8.0%, but lower in Capital goods by 30.3% and Durable consumer goods by 26.2%.

Industry turnover on the domestic market in March 2020 increased by 19.8% compared to February 2020 and by 3.9% in January-March 2020, compared to the same period in 2019.

According to State Statistical Office data, industry turnover on the non-domestic market in March 2020 dropped by 26.1% compared to March 2019.

The turnover in industry on the non-domestic market by Main Industrial Groupings in March 2020, in comparison with March 2019, was lower in Intermediate goods, except energy by 24.2%, Capital goods by 32.0%, Durable consumer goods by 29.3% and Non-durable consumer goods by 8.7%.

The industry turnover on non-domestic markets in March 2020 was 20.5% lower compared to February 2020, and 3.4% lower in January-March 2020 in comparison with January-March 2019.
