Kumanovo, 19 October 2025 (MIA) – I want to thank the citizens of Kumanovo and Macedonia for these “Scandinavian-like elections”, said the leader of ZNAM and its candidate for Kumanovo Mayor, Maksim Dimitrievski, on Sunday evening.

According to ZNAM’s analytics center, with 80 percent of polling stations processed, Dimitrievski said he is leading ahead of the other six mayoral candidates. 

“This time, neither in Kumanovo nor in Macedonia are we seeing mayoral candidates being chased by police teams or subjected to additional pressure. I want to thank all the people of Kumanovo who came out and voted for me and for ZNAM’s councilor list,” Dimitrievski said, noting that the party’s councilor list is also ahead of the opponents.

The ZNAM leader did not know whether there would be a second round in Kumanovo, as not all data had been processed, but he expects to win a potential runoff as well.

In answer to journalists’ questions, Dimitrievski said ZNAM’s candidate in the Municipality of Centar, Miroslav Labudovikj, will enter the second round. He noted that ZNAM will also secure seats in many municipal councils, though he said he does not have an exact number.
