Strumica, 19 October 2025 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate for Strumica Mayor, Petar Jankov, declared victory on Sunday evening, noting that SDSM’s stronghold in Strumica has fallen after 20 years.

“According to data from our analytics center, with 82 percent of votes processed, VMRO-DPMNE is leading with 12.223 votes compared to the opponent’s 7,908. This indicates a difference of over 4.000 votes. I expect this trend to continue in 17 polling stations that are yet to be processed. The citizens of Strumica have secured a decisive victory, VMRO-DPMNE has won convincingly in Strumica after many years. With this, the citizens of Strumica have brought down SDSM’s stronghold here. The will of the citizens of Strumica has won,” Jankov said.

Jankov thanked the citizens for the support and said he also expects VMRO-DPMNE to secure a majority in Strumica’s municipal council.
