Tusk says Poland in contact with NATO over airspace violation

Warsaw, 10 September 2025 (dpa/MIA) - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Wednesday that he had spoken to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte after more than a dozen drones entered Polish airspace during Russian attacks on Ukraine.

"I have informed the NATO secretary general about the current situation and the actions we have taken against the objects that violated our airspace. We maintain constant contact," Tusk said in a post on the social media platform X.

According to the Ministry of Defence in Warsaw, all ministries responsible for the country's security were to take part in an emergency meeting on the situation.

President Karol Nawrocki said he has been briefed by the Polish Armed Forces and that he would chair a national security briefing soon.

"The security of our country is our top priority and requires close cooperation," Nawrocki said in a post on X.
