Skopje, 16 February 2026 (MIA) - The peace plan of United States President Donald Trump must be welcomed, because people have been dying in Ukraine for four years now, says Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski.

"We welcome the efforts of the U.S. administration and President Donald Trump, because this is the only initiative that can lead to peace, considering that we are unfortunately seeing people die in Ukraine," Minister Misajlovski told Sitel.

Misajlovski said a number of topics were discussed at the meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

"We had an interesting meeting and we raised a lot of topics. The support we are providing is not insignificant, and considering the daily missile attacks on Kyiv and other cities, every NATO member needs to help," says Misajlovski.

Our country, he adds, has strategic friends both within NATO and outside the Alliance as well.
