Gostivar, 21 July 2026 (MIA) - A pre-trial judge of the Basic court in Gostivar has given three officials of the town's public utility enterprise 30-day detention following the water contamination incident.

Artan Asani, Leon Uredini and Vadedin Dervishi are suspected of causing the water contamination after installing pumps into a drainage canal, which led to the water from the supply system mixing with sewage discharges.

The detention order has been given due to flight risk and witness intimidation.

The detained individuals are suspected of committing crimes against the environment and nature.
