Skopje, 10 February 2026 (MIA) - Staging a blockade of the building of Parliament on Tuesday morning, the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) started its campaign of blockades to be carried out in the coming days, demanding increase of the minimum wage to EUR 600 and a EUR 100 increase of all other wages.  

Protesters blocked entrances to the Parliament and the street in front of the Parliament building. 

According to SSM, the blockade will send a message to the MPs that they are the ones blocking the law on minimum wage increase for more than a year and fail to endorse SSM's initiative on public officials' salaries being slashed.
