Skopje, 1 February 2026 (MIA) - Wet and slushy snow roads are reported nationwide amid winter conditions with moderate traffic outside urban areas. A ban on cargo vehicles is in place on the Gostivar - Strazha - Kichevo road since 9:40 am on Sunday due to snowfall.  

As snow hinders traffic, trucks and buses are banned since 9:20 am on Sunday on the Shipkovica - Popova Shapka road section, and a ban on cargo vehicles is in place since 5.45 am on Sunday on the Mavrovo - Debar road section, said "Makedonija Pat". 

As of Nov. 15, 2025, winter equipment in vehicles is mandatory until Mar. 15, 2026.

Landslides are possible along the routes of Katlanovo – Veles, Mavrovo – Debar – Struga, Vinica – Berovo and Kochani – Delchevo.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully, adjust their speed to weather conditions and follow traffic rules, signs and signals.
