Skopje, 16 May 2026 (MIA) — Skopje residents should expect street closures and traffic detours across the city Sunday morning for the 14th annual "Prv do vrv" ("First to the Top") recreational event, which includes a bicycle race and a hiking tour up Vodno.

Several streets will be closed for the bicycle race, which starts at 9:45 am. Cyclists will start in front of the Museum of the City of Skopje, riding along St. Cyril and Methodius Street (formerly Mito Hadzhivasilev Jasmin Street), turning left onto St. Clement of Ohrid Street and continuing straight onto Mother Teresa Street. The race route then turns left onto Todor Aleksandrov Street before following the local road to Middle Vodno and finishing at the Millennium Cross at the top of Vodno.

The hiking tour starts at 10 am, with hikers setting off from Kocho Racin Elementary on Mother Teresa Street and moving along Todor Aleksandrov Street to Salvador Allende Street before taking a mountain path toward Middle Vodno to hike to the top.

The Skopje traffic police will be redirecting vehicles to surrounding roads. Motorists are advised to follow all instructions from police officers to ensure public safety. mr/
