Skopje, 10 October 2025 (MIA) — SDSM's candidate for Skopje mayor, Kaja Shukova, told a campaign rally in the Municipality of Gjorche Petrov that with her as mayor, the capital would get a bus rapid transit system with 21 bus stations, two separate lanes and eco-friendly buses, shortening travel times and reducing pollution.

The BRT system would make Gjorche Petrov "the starting point of a modern, green and connected Skopje," Shukova said.

"Gjorche has been left on the sidelines for a long time. It is time for that to change," she said.

She also stressed the importance of infrastructure connecting the municipality with other parts of the city.

"Gjorche will no longer be last on the list. It will be first when building, when investing, when creating a future. I want Skopje not to be a divided city, but a city that connects, that lives with the people. Let's restore the dignity of Skopje and the glory of Gjorche," Shukova said. mr/
