Skopje, 27 July 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Borche Serafimovski met Monday with European Union Ambassador Michalis Rokas, with both reaffirming the commitment for continuation of the cooperation in the fields of agriculture and rural development.

Minister Serafimovski and Ambassador Rokas focused on agriculture reforms, use of EU funds and alignment with European standards, as well as food security, phytosanitary policies and enhancement of institutional capacities, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy said in a press release.

"European integration in agriculture means stronger institutions, higher standards and more competitive national production. Our goal is to turn European support into specific and sustainable benefits for farmers and rural environments," said Serafimovski.

Interlocutors also reaffirmed the joint commitment to responsible use of EU funds and timely implementation of undertaken tasks, reads the press release.
