Skopje, 20 September 2025 (MIA) - The minimal consumer basket in September 2025 stands at Mden 65,077 (EUR 1,057), a decrease of Mden 430 (EUR 7) compared to August when it stood at Mden 65,507 (EUR 1,064), said the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) on Saturday.

Renting a 60 m2 apartment increases costs to Mden 80,452 (EUR 1,307).

According to the SSM, a four-member family’s minimal consumer basket requires Mden 23,394 (EUR 380) or (35.9%) for food and beverages, Mden 5,725 (EUR 93) or (8.8%) for clothing and shoes, Mden 6,096 (EUR 99) or (9.4%) for rent, water, electricity, and heating, Mden 2,636 (EUR 42) or (4.0%) for personal and home hygiene, Mden 4,716 (EUR 76) or (7.2%) for transport, Mden 3,417 (EUR 55) or (5.3%) for communications, and Mden 1,174 (EUR 19) or (1.8%) for healthcare.

In September, a family of four needed Mden 7,097 (EUR 115) or  (10.9%) for education, Mden 5,592 (EUR 90) or (8.6%) for recreation and cultural activities, Mden 4,131 (EUR 67) or (6.3%) for restaurants and hotels, and Mden 1,100 (EUR 17) or (1.7%) for miscellaneous goods and services.

Living in a rented apartment requires an extra Mden 21,471 (EUR 349).
