Skopje, 13 September 2026 (MIA) - The deadline for submission of candidate lists for the early mayoral election in the municipality of Brvenica expired at midnight, said the State Election Commission (SEC) on Sunday.

SEC said six lists of candidates have been submitted for the October 18 vote - Jovica Radeski (SDSM-led coalition), Jakup Useini (Vlen coalition), Stojancho Radichevski (VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition), Arkin Jahiji (National Alliance for Integration-NAI), and independent candidates Arife Idrizi and Dushan Bogdanovski.

The early election will take place after the death of Brvenica mayor Jovica Ilievski on June 23.
