SEC rejects all 57 complaints over first round of local elections

Skopje, 24 October 2025 (MIA) - The State Election Commission (SEC) rejected Thursday all 57 complaints over the first round of the local elections.

"There were 57 complaints in total, 37 of which related to voting results and 20 on the voting procedure, across a number of polling stations. All complaints have been rejected as unfounded," said SEC President Boris Kondarko.

He added that complainants are entitled to second-instance procedure before the Administrative Court.

"After the Court's decision, we will present the final results in the municipalities where complaints were filed," said Kondarko.

Regarding the preliminary official results released on Monday, there were complaints in 11 out of 44 municipalities - Arachinovo, Bogdanci, Bosilovo, Butel, Veles, Gazi Baba, Krivogashtani, Prilep, Resen, Chair and Chashka.

No complaints were filed in the remaining 33 municipalities, meaning that the first round of voting for mayors has been completed - Berovo, Bitola, Vasilevo, Vevchani, Gevgelija, Gjorche Petrov, Gradsko, Delchevo, Demir Hisar, Zhelino, Zelenikovo, Ilinden, Jegunovce, Kavadarci, Karbinci, Kisela Voda, Kratovo, Kriva Palanka, Lipkovo, Novaci, Novo Selo, Ohrid, Petrovec, Pehchevo, Plasnica, Radovish, Saraj, Sveti Nikole, Sopishte, Staro Nagorichane, Strumica, Tearce and Shtip.

On the voting for council members, the SEC said there were no complaints in 64 municipalities and the vote is final, while complaints have been submitted in 17 municipalities.
