SEC publishes preliminary official results of local election runoff
- The State Election Commission (SEC) published on Monday the preliminary official results of Sunday’s runoff vote in the local elections.
Skopje, 3 November 2025 (MIA) - The State Election Commission (SEC) published on Monday the preliminary official results of Sunday’s runoff vote in the local elections.
According to SEC head Boris Kondarko, voting took place in 32 municipalities and the City of Skopje, and a total of 1,013,375 voters were eligible to vote in the second round of the local elections. The number of polling stations where voting was conducted was 1,777, and a total of 424,923 citizens voted, i.e. 41.93%. The number of invalid ballots was 23,930, and the number of valid ballots was 404,464.
In the ten Skopje municipalities, 474,304 citizens voted for mayor of the capital, as well as 167,575 voters on the territory of Skopje. The total number of unused ballots is 306,729, while valid ballots amounted to 157,047, with 10,528 invalid ballots.
The VMRO-DPMNE led coalition celebrated victory in the City of Skopje and in 21 municipalities, the Vlen coalition in four, the SDSM led coalition in three, while the Union of Roma, the ZNAM Movement and NAI in one municipality each.
In the Skopje mayoral race, VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate Orce Gjorgjievski received 95,572 votes, while Levica’s Amar Mecinovikj received 61, 475 votes, i.e. 36.69%.
Kondarko noted that the deadlines for complaints begin to run after the publishing of the preliminary official results.

"As of 4:30 pm today, after the publishing of the preliminary official results, deadlines for possible complaints regarding the procedure of determining and summarizing the results begin to run for the next 48 hours, until 4:30 pm on Wednesday. Complaints are to be submitted directly to the SEC, electronic submission is not allowed," Kondarko pointed out.
According to him, if no complaints are filed, the deadline for publishing the final results of the local elections will be next Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
"If no complaints are filed by Wednesday in any of the 32 municipalities, the SEC will publish the final results for those places where there are no complaints on Thursday. If complaints are filed, the SEC has a 72-hour deadline to decide on the complaints. That would be somewhere until Saturday. Then, after the SEC's decisions, there is a 24-hour deadline for filing lawsuits with the Administrative Court. That would be by Sunday at the latest. The Administrative Court has a 48-hour deadline to decide on lawsuits. So, the deadlines for the Administrative Court would be by Monday. Monday or Tuesday at the latest, after the final decision of the Administrative Court, would be the deadline for publishing the final results. The final results will be published at a session of the SEC, and the public will be notified in a timely manner," said Kondarko.
Deadlines for complaints related to the voting procedure have already begun as of 7 pm on Sunday.
