Skopje, 19 October 2025 (MIA) – SDSM opposition leader Venko Filipche said he expects peaceful and fair elections, during which citizens will decide who will lead the municipalities in the next four-years.

“I urge all citizens to come out and vote in large numbers, because it is important that the elected mayors and council members receive legitimacy from a wide voter turnout. This is our responsibility and our duty,” Filipche said after voting at the polling station in Karposh municipality.

Filipche said he was pleased with how the campaign went, adding that the party had effectively presented its platform and candidates to voters.

“We had a fair campaign and the tools to reach many citizens. I believe voters will decide based on objective criteria who should lead the municipalities over the next four years,” Filipche told reporters.

Asked if SDSM will celebrate in Karposh, Filipche said only, “We’ll see. We did our best and had a good campaign, both in our party work and in connecting with people.”
