Skopje, 12 February 2026 (MIA) — First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Bekim Sali met Thursday with US Chargé d'Affaires Nicole Varnes to talk about bilateral ties, reform processes and regional stability, according to an official press release.

The meeting focused on the strategic partnership between the two countries as well as the continued support from the United States in strengthening democratic institutions and development policies. 

Sali stressed the state's commitment to the implementation of public administration reforms and judiciary reforms essential for improving the rule of law, transparency and citizen services.

Meeting participants also discussed the importance of regional stability as a prerequisite for peace, security and economic progress.

"Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen bilateral cooperation," the release said. mr/
