Skopje, 12 February 2026 (MIA) — EU membership remains the state's top strategic priority and the government is fully committed to aligning the legislation with the European acquis and to promoting the rule of law, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Bekim Sali told the Ambassador of Netherlands Özlem Canel at meeting Thursday.

According to an official press release, they also discussed the European integration process, including the constitutional change required for opening the negotiation clusters; reform activities; and bilateral cooperation.

"Both sides stressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation, especially in areas related to reform processes and the rule of law," the release said. mr/
