Skopje, 25 March 2026 (MIA) - Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Macedonian Service and the Pashto-language service, Radio Mashaal, will close on March 31.

"The closure of these two services is a loss for the audiences they serve. But RFE/RL’s current budgetary environment compels us to reprioritize how we distribute our resources. This decision was made with a profound appreciation for the work these teams have done, and the standard of excellence they have upheld," RFE/RL President & CEO Stephen Capus posted on X.

RFE/RL's Macedonian service was launched in 2001.
