Replek opens new production plant

Skopje, 2 July 2025 (MIA) - The pharmaceutical company Replek opened Tuesday a new production plant, estimated at over two million euros, which is considered a high-tech and quality solution with high productivity, designed to increase the company's capacity and its adjustment to markets, said Replek CEO Dushan Pecovski.

"This is a full line from start to finish, from a pill to a final transport box and it's the first single largest  investment in the past 80 years," Pecovski told the ceremony.

Last year, he added, Replek invested a record-breaking 6.3 million euros in digital automatisation, modernization, including a modern IRP integral system solution, and in the development of new production lines.

"We're doing all this to increase our productivity and efficiency. Throughout 80 years, Replek has continously managed to redefine and reposition as well as to rediscover. It is in our DNA to follow and adopt global trends," stated Pecovski.

Currently, Replek is present in 25 countries planning to expand further. "If we are present today in 25 countries, we have ambitions to bring it to a total of 40 countries by 2030," the CEO said.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski called it "yet another positive story in the Macedonian economy."

"Replek is one of the symbols of continuity, quality and professionalism. Marking 80 years since its establishment, Replek makes a new visionary step forward. With the new pharmaceutical production block, the company not only modernizes, it also boosts its capacity for primary and secondary packaging of firm pharmaceutical forms by a significant 25 percent. It means new technology, better efficiency, higher standards and a new confirmation that our country has the potential and capacity for an industrial growth," said the prime minister.

The government has a clear strategy, he noted. "It is to create a favorable business climate, cut down red tape, support development, innovation, export, increase added value."

"We believe that a strong economy is built not only with a foreign capital but also by caring for your own - for everyone who has decided to stay, invest and create here, in Macedonia. Replek is an example for that, an example that inspires and motivates," stated Mickoski saying last year recorded a rise in industrial production, new investments and stable public finances and projects.
