President Siljanovska-Davkova meets Roma Foundation for Europe and Roma Education Fund representatives

Skopje, 2 March 2026 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met Monday with Lolita Hasani Grasmann, Institutional Cooperation and Communication Advisor at the Roma Foundation for Europe in Brussels, and Redjepali Chupi, Director of the Roma Education Fund for North Macedonia and Serbia, based in Bucharest.

As reported by the Office of President Siljanovska-Davkova, at the meeting, the interlocutors briefed the President on ongoing activities aimed at skills development, educational programs, increasing employment opportunities, and the sustainable economic participation of Roma communities.

They expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Government to improve the economic inclusion and economic empowerment of the Roma community. They also announced that the Roma Education Fund plans to open a HUB center in Shuto Orizari to work with children, parents, and teachers on digitalization, new teaching methods, and skills development for future employment and leadership.

President Siljanovska-Davkova underscored that education is a key factor of social mobility, as it helps build self-confidence and leadership. According to her, young educated Roma become inspiring role models within their community and drivers of positive change. She noted that inclusion in preschool and primary education directly affects the further success of Roma pupils, since without quality education, opportunities for decent and dignified employment are limited.

Siljanovska-Davkova believes that access to education for Roma children is a priority, as only through early and continuous educational inclusion can social integration, protection from risks, and equal opportunities for the future be ensured.

She stressed that economic and educational integration of the Roma is vital for social development, adding that collaboration with international organizations can help enhance their opportunities and support long-term integration. Siljanovska-Davkova said that joint initiatives are key to improving the status of the Roma community and promoting progress.
