- Having registered a GDP of 3.4% in the second quarter this year, Macedonia shares the third place with Croatia out of the European countries according to the achieved growth and is ahead of all the countries in the region, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated Thursday.
Skopje, 4 September 2025 (MIA) – Having registered a GDP of 3.4% in the second quarter this year, Macedonia shares the third place with Croatia out of the European countries according to the achieved growth and is ahead of all the countries in the region, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated Thursday.
Speaking to members of the media, Mickoski said he expects the economy to grow over 4 percent by the end of the year.
“The State Statistical Office earlier today revealed that GDP in Macedonia in the second quarter grew by 3.4 percent. Eurostat has released data on GDP growth on about 28 European countries. Macedonia is third together with Croatia. Only Ireland and Cyprus are above us, all the rest in the near surrounding and beyond are below Macedonia,” the prime minister said after a visit to the Municipality of Brvenica.
Mickoski noted that with the information on GDP growth in the second quarter, the economy records a growth of over three percent in four quarters in the row under the current government.
“The first quarter was the third of last year when we had 3 percent, then in the fourth 3.2, then in the first of this year 3.2, now it is 3.4 percent. I expect that by the end of the year, we will have a quarter when we break through the limit with over four percent, which will once again deny the constructions and lies of the opposition parties that the economy was not doing well. These are numbers, there’s no playing with numbers, these are facts,” said Mickoski.
