Skopje, 19 March 2026 (MIA) - Croatia will continue to support North Macedonia on the path towards European Union membership. We believe that the country deserves a clear EU perspective, says Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković after yesterday's meeting with counterpart Hristijan Mickoski in Brussels.

"I was pleased to meet with North Macedonia's Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski in Brussels. We exchanged opinions on the geopolitical challenges, security of energy supply in Southeast Europe, and measures undertaken by both governments in the fight against rising energy prices. Croatia will continue to support North Macedonia on its path towards European Union membership. We believe that North Macedonia deserves a clear EU perspective," PM Plenković says in a post on X.

Plenković and Mickoski are taking part in an event marking the 50th anniversary of the European People’s Party (EPP).

PM and VMRO-DPMNE leader Mickoski is set to attend a leaders' summit organized by the EPP. The summit will focus on the economic prospects of the European continent, global challenges, the war in Ukraine, as well as the conflicts across the Gulf and the situation in Iran.
