Pasta prices drop by 15 percent, dairy products by 10

Skopje, 10 March 2023 (MIA) – Pasta prices will be reduced by 15 percent and dairy products by 10 percent, and their prices will be capped, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Friday.
The decision for pasta covers macaroni and spaghetti. The import customs duties for these products will also be scrapped from March 13 to May 31, 2023. The price reduction for dairy products, which will be in force from March 17 to May 31, 2023, covers cow milk with 2.8, 3.2 and 3.5 percent fat content, urda, cow and mixed white cheese, cow cheese, sour milk, sour cream and yoghurt.

“The retail price of pasta will be reduced by 15 percent, or on average about eight to nine denars. The import customs duties for these products will also be scrapped from March 13 to May 31, 2023. The prices of dairy products will be capped and reduced by 10 percent as well, and this will be in force from March 17 to May 31, 2023,” said PM Kovachevski.
According to the PM, the government will continue to make decisions that protect the interests and the living standard of the citizens.
Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi will explain the decisions at a press conference.
This is the second government decision capping the price of food products, after the price of white and semi-white bread was capped to Mden 33 on February 28. ad/nn/
