Bitola, 15 June 2026 (MIA) - The difference between these two countries and ours is that we control the entire territory of the state and do not have the problems they are facing, whereas the opposition there does not undermine the citizens, does not slander their government and does not work in the interest of other governments as is the case here, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Monday.

PM Mickoski was quizzed by reporters about the pending start of the EU accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova this July.

"Former authorities in these countries managed to ensure consensus when it came to strategic issues and challenges coming from the outside. The former government here did not do this, it was in a rather desperate state and was ready to accept everything in order to stay in power. The citizens recognized this, they punished them and sent them into opposition. They will be politically sidelined and forgotten after the next elections," said Mickoski.

The PM said the Government would continue to work and deliver the reforms within the Growth Plan.

"We will continue to build the Macedonian economy. Results cannot come overnight. We have never promised miracles and everyone who does this is a liar. We only promise to work hard and we will get what we deserve. Macedonia is accelerating and Macedonia will win, as it has done on many occasions in the past," said Mickoski.
