Open Circle festival award winners announced

Skopje, 7 May 2025 (MIA) — For his contribution to international literary values and relations, Serbian poet Selimir Radulović has won this year's Open Circle international literary festival's Balkan Literary Views Award, festival organizers said Wednesday.

 

Radulović will receive his award at the Open Circle festival, which will be held at Feniks Cultural Center in Skopje on May 15.

 

The other six festival prizes will go to Macedonian poet Stefan Markovski, Macedonian Albanian poet Shaip Emerllahu, Macedonian poet Elena Prednzhova, Bulgarian poet Roza Boyanova, Gothenburg-based Macedonian poet Ivica Chelikovikj and Macedonian poet Mito Spasevski.

 

Markovski will receive the Open Circle Award for his literary innovations and experiments.

 

Emerllahu will receive the Bridging Award for promoting Macedonian literature at the Days of Naim Frashëri International Poetry Festival in Tetovo.

 

Prendzhova will receive the Haikin Award for her contribution to haiku poetry.

 

Boyanova will receive the Literary Coordinates Award for literary cooperation and bringing literatures closer together.

 

Chelikovikj will receive the Macedonian Roots Award for his writing and translations.

 

Spasevski will receive the Big Prince Award for his contribution to children's literature.

 

The Open Circle international literary festival is organized by the foundation for cultural affirmation and presentation Macedonia Present. mr/
