Skopje, 7 August 2026 (MIA) - State Statistical Office data show that monthly inflation in July amounts to 0.1 percent, confirming that price trends remain stable and there is no need to enforce intervention measures, said the Ministry of Economy and Labor on Friday.

The Ministry said in a press release it closely monitors price trends through official statistical data, as well as analyses of procurement and selling prices and gross profit margins. In parallel, the State Market Inspectorate continues to carry out strict controls in order to prevent abuse and unjustified price hikes.

It adds that regarding the most significant category - food - prices have been dropping for the second consecutive months.

The Ministry notes that the Government remains fully committed to protecting the citizens' standard and would respond in a timely fashion in case of unjustified price hikes or market disruptions.

It says that inflation in July compared to the same month in 2025 stands at 2.3 percent, while retail prices have increased by 1.8 percent, "which is significantly lower compared to the periods when the country faced strong price pressures caused by the global energy and price crisis."
