No Borders Orchestra to perform at Philharmonic Chamber Hall
- No Borders Orchestra, an ensemble composed of musicians from the former Yugoslav republics, will give a concert of works by Arnold Schoenberg, Richard Strauss and Gustav Mahler as well as four pieces by young regional composers at the Philharmonic Chamber Hall at 8 pm.
Skopje, 5 September 2025 (MIA) -- No Borders Orchestra, an ensemble composed of musicians from the former Yugoslav republics, will give a concert of works by Arnold Schoenberg, Richard Strauss and Gustav Mahler as well as four pieces by young regional composers at the Philharmonic Chamber Hall at 8 pm.
The concert program consists of Schoenberg's "Verklärte Nacht"; Mahler's Adagietto from Symphony No. 5; and Strauss's "Metamorphosen" as well as Montenegrin composer Nina Perovic's "Bubbling"; Croatian composer Davor Branimir Vincze's "Ckrsch!"; Serbian composer Marko Nikodijevic's "Last inscription"; and Macedonian composer Darija Andovska's "Apototic Bodies."
The concert is part of the orchestra's Turning Point 2025 regional tour.
No Borders Orchestra was founded in 2012 as a non-governmental organization to promote creative collaboration and social progress, inclusivity, peace and togetherness in the Western Balkans.
Its first release "The Opening" was recorded at the Slovenian Philharmonic Hall in Ljubljana where NBO was headlining the Ljubljana Festival. The album was released under the Universal Music Austria/Deutsche Grammophon label in 2015.
In 2022, NBO won the Champion of Regional Cooperation award. mr/
