Skopje, 3 November 2025 (MIA) — VMRO-DPMNE members Aleksandra Nikolovska, Martin Stojanovski and Mito Andonov have been named to replace MPs Beti Stamenkovska Trajkovska, Jane Micevski and Dejan Prodanoski, after the latter were elected mayors in the local elections, the State Election Commission said Monday.

According to SEC chair Boris Kondarko, Nikolovska, Stojanovski and Andonov will fill the parliamentary seats left vacant after Stamenkovska Trajkovska, Micevski and Prodanoski assume their new posts. 

Stamenkovska Trajkovska, Micevski and Prodanoski won the mayoral races in Kisela Voda, Sopishte and Prilep, respectively.

Kondarko said Igor Nikovski was ahead of Stojanovski on the VMRO-DPMNE and its coalition's MP candidate list, but Nikovski had told the SEC he was not interested in the post so the parliamentary seat was offered to Stojanovski instead.

Earlier Monday in Parliament, Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi announced the end of the terms in office of the three lawmakers who had been elected mayors.

In accordance with Articles 8 and 152 of the Electoral Code, the MP term ends on the day when a mayor's term is verified. ik/mr
