Nikoloski - Hatzidakis: Better regional cooperation in infrastructure, construction of high-speed railway on Corridor X

According to Nikoloski's Office, this is the first meeting between the two Deputy Prime Ministers, highlighting the importance and promotion of economic cooperation and regional infrastructure projects.
Skopje, 24 September 2025 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski held a working meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Greece, Kostis Hatzidakis, in Athens on Wednesday. According to Nikoloski's Office, this is the first meeting between the two Deputy Prime Ministers, highlighting the importance and promotion of economic cooperation and regional infrastructure projects.

"The meeting reaffirmed the two countries' commitment to better regional cooperation in the area of infrastructure, transport and services. The Government's strategic priorities in infrastructure were presented, highlighting the importance of more efficient regional connectivity as a prerequisite for accelerated economic development in the region. Interlocutors stressed the strong determination of the two governments to build the high-speed railway on Corridor X, a regional project to enable the development of trade, increase exchange between the two countries, as well as swift connection between Greek ports and Central Europe markets. Participants in the meeting presented the conditions for investing in the country, as well as the possibility of greater economic and trade cooperation between the business communities of the two countries," the Ministry of Transport said.
Nikoloski and Hatzidakis concluded that cooperation and implementation of projects of regional importance will continue in the coming period towards increasing the efficiency of transport and cross-border cooperation.
