Nikoloski and Szijjártó reaffirm partnership based on political and economic cooperation

Skopje, 13 June 2025 (MIA) – We continue to build our relations with our friends at an even higher level. We are working actively on the reform processes, guiding the country in the right direction toward prosperity, processes that are strongly supported by our partners, the Government of Hungary, said Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski during his meeting Friday with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
Minister Szijjártó, on a working visit to Macedonia, will today sign an agreement on strategic cooperation between the Governments of Macedonia and Hungary, on behalf of the Hungarian Government, the Ministry of Transport said.

Welcoming the signing of this strategic document, Nikoloski emphasized that cooperation between the two countries is being elevated to a higher level and that it will bring numerous benefits to Macedonia through the implementation of new infrastructure projects.
Deputy Prime Minister Nikoloski, speaking in the context of the agreement and the country’s development policies, underlined the economic development plan, especially the focus on modernization of transport corridor.
Both ministers reaffirmed their partnership during the meeting, based on strong political ties and important economic cooperation between the two countries.

Nikoloski emphasized after the meeting that this strategic agreement with Hungary is crucial amid major political and economic challenges for Macedonia. The partnership brings benefits, and cooperation with Hungary has never been stronger. The agreement will bring new infrastructure projects, and he expects this cooperation to deepen in the coming period.
