New kindergarten opens in Chair, two more to follow

Skopje, 8 August 2025 (MIA) - Kindergarten "Bambi" opened in the Skopje municipality of Chair on Friday, with a daycare capacity of 350 children.

The construction cost EUR 2 million, allocated by the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth.

Chair Mayor Visar Ganiu said the children will get their pre-school education in the best possible conditions.

"Care and education from the earliest age are based on an individual's formation. As public institutions, we are obligated not only to build facilities but also create equal opportunities for every child to make its first steps in the supportive and inclusive environment. Therefore, our education policy is based on concrete and tangible projects with a long-term impact," said Ganiu.

He added that besides the groups in Albanian language, the kindergarten will also include groups in Turkish and Bosnian, thus ensuring equal access to education for all children living in Chair and creating an example of respect and coexistence among different ethnicities.

Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, Fatmir Limani, said the institution is built in accordance with the highest standards that guarantee a quality pre-school education.

"Today is a day of joy and pride. Today we open the doors to the future, to a better childhood, to equal opportunities for every child," said Limani.

FIrst Deputy PM Izet Mexhiti said the Government has already allocated EUR 3.5 million for the construction or another two municipalities in Chair.

"Old buildings from the time of communism go away and are replaced with these beautiful kindergartens," added Mexhiti.
