Mucunski-Strand: Greater predictability and momentum in region's EU accession process

Skopje, 2 October 2025 (MIA) - Relevant European and regional issues, with a special emphasis on the enlargement policy of the European Union and the prospects of the enlargement process were in the focus of talks between Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski and Finland’s Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering, Joakim Strand, who is on official visit to North Macedonia.
In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said Mucunski reaffirmed the country’s commitment to accelerating the Euro-integration process with the aim of full-fledged EU membership in line with established criteria and standards.
Mucunski said the country remains a consistent and credible partner of the EU, continuously working on the implementation of reforms and actively contributing to regional stability and cooperation.
“Mucunski noted the importance of greater predictability and momentum in the EU accession process for the countries of the region, expressing gratitude for the continued and principled support provided by Finland,” the Ministry said.
The two ministers also discussed the bilateral relations, reaffirming a joint commitment for their further enhancement and the promotion of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
