Mucunski: European Commission allocates €65.7 million to country – highest amount in the region

Skopje, 20 May 2026 (MIA) - The European Commission announced that it has made available €65.7 million available to our country under the Reform and Growth Facility, the highest amount in the region, compared to €49 million for Albania and €44.2 million for Montenegro, Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski said in a social media post.

According to Mucunski, this represents a clear confirmation of the Government’s strong commitment to reforms, fulfilling obligations under the Growth Plan and alignment with European values and standards at home. He also said it reflects recognition of the country’s serious approach, institutional capacity and reform progress.

According to the official information published by the European Commission, the funds have been approved under the Reform and Growth Facility following a positive assessment of the implemented reform steps. For our country, the assessed reforms relate to measures in education and digitalisation.

Of the €65.7 million disbursed, €30.6 million will be transferred to the state budget, while the remaining funds are made available for investment projects through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).
