Mucunski attends meeting with Turkish President Erdoğan in Istanbul as part of Balkan Peace Platform
- On the sidelines of the second meeting of the Balkan Peace Platform, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, along with his counterparts from the participating countries, met Friday in Istanbul with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Skopje, 23 January 2026 (MIA) – On the sidelines of the second meeting of the Balkan Peace Platform, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, along with his counterparts from the participating countries, met Friday in Istanbul with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the meeting focused on an exchange of views regarding the bilateral relations between the Republic of Türkiye and the countries of the region, as well as on broader regional issues of mutual interest.
“At a time when the world and the region are facing serious challenges, the participants stressed the importance of strengthening solidarity and mutual understanding among the members of the Balkan Peace Platform,” reads the press release.
At the meeting, it was jointly assessed that the Balkans should continue moving forward with an approach that takes into account the lessons of the past, while being clearly focused on stability, cooperation, and a shared future.
