Skopje, 15 May 2024 (MIA) — Mother Teresa University rector Izet Zeqiri opened Tuesday the university's Career Fair, featuring speeches by Business Confederation president Mile Boshkov and Economic Chamber of North-Western Macedonia president Mendi Qyra and presenting a chance to undergraduates to meet representatives of 25 private companies.
In his opening remarks, Zeqiri stressed the importance of the government, members of academia and the business community working together toward preventing the emigration of young people.
The job fair, he said, was organized to introduce employers to potential employees and also help the university design study programs according to the business community's suggestions.
It was in the interest of all, he said, to prevent highly skilled professionals from moving abroad because that led to "a void in our market," according to Zeqiri.
Business Confederation president Boshkov said students needed to research companies to find the one that was the best for them. He also said students should be encouraged to study and work in the country.
"The most important thing is that students work and study here, and create value for themselves, for their families and for society," he said. mr/
